The University of Michigan police issued an emergency alert about a stabbing on the campus Thursday night.

An alert said a stabbing occurred at Catherine and Zina Pitcher at 6:21 p.m.

An alert at 7:11 p.m. said they were searching for a stabbing suspect described as a heavyset man wearing a white shirt, tie and jeans.

"Call 911 if seen," the alert said.
