ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - First Alert 4 continues pushing for answers after uncovering concerns that thousands of St. Louis water customers may be paying for water they don’t use.
First Alert 4 Investigates asked City Hall if it will re-evaluate how the city and MSD bill people for the water they actually use.
As First Alert 4 previously reported, some 81,000 city water customers are billed based on a water usage estimate — essentially a guess, not the exact amount they use. That same estimate impacts their MSD bill. Residents tell First Alert 4 it’s just too much. Changing this would take action from the Board of Aldermen and the mayor.
