ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - More tiny homes for homeless veterans are coming to the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood in North City.

There are currently 20 homes in various stages of construction, and now the second phase is beginning, creating even more tiny homes.

Spire was onsite on Thursday, checking on the foundations of these homes.

In the end, the goal is for there to be 50 homes at the development.

Veterans there will receive case managers to help them get jobs and permanent housing, among other things.

The Veterans Community Project, which is leading the effort, said this model’s success rate in other communities has been high. They said 85% of veterans eventually move onto permanent housing.
