GREENVILLE, S.C. —

The Children's Museum of the Upstate honored Trude Heller, a Holocaust survivor, mother, educator, and community leader, as they dedicated the "Trude Heller Children's Garden" at Heritage Green.

"It's incredibly special to host a place that exemplifies so much of what she held dear, and will continue to do so for years to come," said Lauren Luneckas, CEO of The Children's Museum of the Upstate.

The Children's Museum of the Upstate hosted local elected officials, friends, and family members at today's ceremony, which included a ribbon-cutting, walk-through tour, and even a brief presentation on the family's history.

"My parents both escaped the Holocaust, a place where they were thrown out of their homes. Everything was taken away," said Trude's daughter, Francie Hell
