CONNECTICUT, USA — HVAC experts in Connecticut said now is the time for people to ensure their home heating systems are winter-ready before they find themselves left out in the cold.

“We want to make sure it’s running at its optimum efficiency,” said David Crispino, a comfort specialist with East Coast Mechanical in Cheshire.

With fall just around the corner, Crispino said homeowners should take advantage of the slower season to schedule a routine heating system checkup.

“We want to change your filter. We want to catch any problems before they arise in the middle of winter and they become an emergency,” he explained.

Those checkups typically include inspecting and cleaning filters, vents and thermostats —simple tasks that can make a big difference when the temperature drops.
