EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- A junior at San Elizario Early College High School has brought national recognition to her hometown after competing against the nation’s most talented students in career and technical education (CTE) programs.

Lizbeth Cigarroa won first place in graphics imaging sublimation at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, which is held every June in Atlanta, San Elizario ISD said in a news release.

She got the gold medal, placing ahead of Rocio Flores of California, who took silver, and Corissa Russell of Rhode Island, who received the bronze.
