JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. —
Herzing University celebrates its 60th anniversary of helping people change their lives through education.
The year-long celebration kicked off in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where the institution was founded by Henry and Suzanne Herzing in 1965.
Herzing's president Renee Herzing, the founders' daughter, joined others for a celebration at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center, Thursday.
According to a news release, Herzing University is a private, nonprofit institution with 12 campuses across eight states, offering programs in nursing, health care, technology, business and more.
