AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) -15 dogs were rescued by the Humane Society of Summit County from a trailer in Akron this past spring.

Of the 15 dogs rescued four months ago, 14 have since found loving, permanent homes.

HSSC said after they got a tip from the animal cruelty hotline, they sent an investigator to a trailer in southeast Akron. As the agent approached the trailer, she was met with the overwhelming odor of ammonia and feces.

Through a window, she saw several visibly emaciated dogs inside a home littered with trash and debris. The floor was soaked with urine and fecal waste.

The owner admitted she was overwhelmed and unable to provide proper care. She signed a voluntary surrender form, relinquishing all 15 dogs to HSSC.
