Union chief: UMass Amherst negotiations with police stall over body

AMHERST — A police labor union at the University of Massachusetts Amherst says its contract negotiations have stalled over the use of body-worn cameras.

David Ortiz, president of the New England Police Benevolent Association Local 190, said his union met with the university’s Department of Labor Relations on Monday in its third mediation session since July.
