OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Alzheimer’s event signs are popping up across Ottumwa.

On Saturday, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s will bring personal experience and awareness to light.

Peggy Eskew is familiar with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

“Every day is different some days for my husband it was very clear and he knew what was going on and he seemed fine,” said Eskew.

Her husband Lloyd was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia. Her mother also suffered with Alzheimer’s.

And she said being a caregiver for two, has changed her everyday life.

“I’ve adapted the saying that you just live everyday the best you can you know one day at a time,” said Eskew.

Lori Naumann is a neighbor of Peggy’s She also has seen Alzheimer’s first hand with her grandmother.

She said her experience was eye opening. prompting
