EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — While the site of East Hartford's Founders Plaza has sat vacant for years, neighbors can expect to see crews on site in the next couple of weeks to transform the space.
East Hartford Mayor Connor Martin said Thursday that town leaders' plans include apartments, restaurants and businesses that will allow people to work, live and play in the space.
"We want things that people want to spend their money at. One of the best things that my residents have told me is I want to spend my money here in town. They want restaurants. They don't want fast food, right? They want something that they can take their spouse out, their family out on a nice day, a nice outing, and they want that one-stop shop, work, live and play experience," Martin said.
