Ukrainian man Roman Nazarenko will spend the rest of his life in a Bali prison after a major drug blunder.

The 40-year-old was arrested in Thailand, intercepted on his way to Dubai, and extradited back to Indonesia after being on the run for seven months.

He was convicted of producing illegal drugs in Bali and subsequently sentenced to life behind bars on Thursday.

Nazarenko became a suspect to Bali police after a villa raid in May 2024 which uncovered a lab in the basement used to grow marijuana and a precursor for ecstasy.

He was listed as a fugitive by Interpol and arrested in December in Bangkok.
