Nevada State Police have identified two people killed in a Sept. 11 multi-vehicle crash on Pyramid Highway near Disc Drive in Sparks.

Nevada State Police said the crash happened about 2:23 p.m. A northbound Nissan Juke made an unsafe lane change and struck a Chevrolet Silverado, according to a preliminary investigation. The Nissan spun out, crossed the raised median, and then hit a southbound Honda Insight.

The driver of the Nissan, Jared Vega, 26, of Sparks, and the driver of the Honda, Caryn Stockton, 56, of Sparks, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet was detained during the investigation but no charges have been filed, NSP said.

In an earlier release, police said the driver of the pickup fled the scene and that impairment was suspected in the crash
