MACON, Ga. — Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick and her challenger, Fabian Velazquez, went head-to-head Thursday night for their first mayoral debate of this election cycle .

Patrick is seeking her second term after her election in 2021, while 24-year-old Velazquez promises a fresh, new approach if elected to office.

At The Winning Church on Thursday, Patrick and Velazquez discussed issues from downtown development to crime, and often disagreed in their plans and visions for the city.

One specific disagreement surrounded the North side of Warner Robins. Velazquez argued that Patrick has not planned or executed any revitalization projects in that area during her first term. He says if elected, that's an area he'll focus on.
