DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Nearly one in three female-headed households in the Quad Cities lives in poverty, YWCA Quad Cities officials said.

YWCA Quad Cities announced it is joining the National Diaper Bank Network and Alliance for Period Supplies to connect the community with essential supplies.

By joining these networks, YWCA Quad Cities will be one of two diaper banks in the Quad Cities and the only Alliance for Period Supplies member in the area, officials said.

“We’re doing our best to make sure we’re supporting people when they need our help and just being that constant and making sure that people know they can come and get what they need,” Amy Schaefer, Director of the YWCA Quad Cities Empowerment Center, said.
