LA PUENTE — The Bishop Amat girls volleyball season has gone so well, there was some shock and surprise after dropping its first two sets so convincingly to visiting Bishop Montgomery, and quickly falling behind 3-0 in the third set.

Still, Amat didn’t go away quietly.

It rattled off seven straight points with junior Sanai Severloh and senior Sophia Silva leading the charge with help from freshman Christa Sullivan, who leads the team in kills.

Amat got the crowd going when Audrey Reza came up with a big block and with Allyson Lo’s tip point, and they led 19-12 after Severloh’s block.

But Bishop Montgomery rallied back and won the final five points to finish off the sweep, winning 25-15, 25-15 and 25-22.
