A 28-year-old man who was struck and killed by two vehicles in South Los Angeles, one of which fled the scene, was identified Thursday.
The victim was walking outside of a marked crosswalk on Figueroa Street, north of 81st Street, when he was struck at about 7:35 p.m. last Friday by a silver Toyota Corolla that was going southbound on Figueroa, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The impact caused the pedestrian to go airborne and strike the roadway.
“The driver of the Toyota pulled over to render aid to the pedestrian, when a blue vehicle, traveling southbound on Figueroa Street, struck the pedestrian,” according to a police statement.
The driver of the blue vehicle continued southbound on Figueroa without stopping.
