MESA, Ariz. — The Nile Theater in Mesa was evacuated on Thursday evening, according to the city's police department.

Mesa police said there was a "leak of some sort" that prompted the evacuation.

The Mesa Fire and Medical Department was dispatched to a report of an individual with an "altered level of consciousness" at the concert venue. When crews arrived, they found three unresponsive patients.

The incident was immediately upgraded to a "major medical response" and then a first alarm medical. Patients were "rapidly treated" and taken to the hospital, Mesa Fire and Medical said.

The Mesa Police Department helped with evacuation efforts, and the Mesa Fire and Medical Hazardous Materials Team conducted "atmospheric monitoring" to make sure the theater was safe, authorities say.
