Grammy Award winning songwriter Brett James has died in a plane crash.
The star was among three people in a small aircraft that crash in a field, situated near a school in North Carolina.
James was just 57 at the time of his death and had previously worked with big industry names including Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Bon Jovi, Jessica Andrews, The Backstreet Boys and The Fray. He also snagged a Grammy back in 2007 for Underwood's song Jesus Take The Wheel.
