A country with a leader who was a spoiled rich kid and playground bully that has never grown up has a serious problem. And if that country is important and powerful, the entire world has a problem.

Other nations have to develop ways to cope. And that is what they are doing with regard to Donald Trump. They either flatter him or ignore him.

The implications of countries approaching ours this way are not good. At a minimum, it means American foreign policy falls somewhere between being indifferent to the genocide in Gaza and Ukraine and abetting it.

Worse, it encourages some nations to act more aggressively. For instance, it might prompt Xi Jinping to decide the risks of China invading Taiwan have become acceptable, despite the security guarantees the U.S. has given Taiwan.
