The reconfigured version of the 1939 movie classic “The Wizard of Oz,” which debuted last month at The Sphere in Las Vegas, hasn’t made everyone happy.
Enhanced by artificial intelligence, this glitzy “Oz” is enormous and immersive and features expanded visuals and a rerecorded score using 167,000 speakers.
The premiere audience cheered at the hugeness of it all. The reimagined cyclone scene is truly mind-blowing. But there’s also been considerable industry concern over how all of this modern technology was introduced to what is, perhaps, the most beloved American film of all time.
Does anyone have the right to tamper with a classic?
