Early birds were treated to a cool sight in the sky the morning of Sept. 19.

The waning crescent moon will appear nestled close to Venus and Regulus, one of the brightest stars in the constellation Leo. Though the objects are far apart in space, they will seem grouped together in a conjunction, shining low in the eastern sky.

The planetary conjunction as it's been called made for a unique view around sunrise. North Jersey also got a show, check out this image from Lincoln Park as taken by our staff.

The view spread all over. Check out some more of the photos of the morning sky. If you have any good shots from North Jersey, send them to jongsma@northjersey.com so we can add them!
