With maximum sustained winds at 50 mph, Tropical Storm Gabrielle continues along its path to the west-northwest at 12 mph, roughly 600 miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands and over 900 miles southeast of Bermuda.

This slow-moving storm system is expected to make a turn to the northwest over the weekend, possibly becoming a hurricane by late Sunday, early Monday morning. Gabrielle is expected to pass east of Bermuda Sunday night and Monday.

There are no coastal warnings or watches in effect. Interests in Bermuda should monitor the anticipated path of Tropical Storm Gabrielle.

A second wave is being monitored on Friday. This spot has a 20% chance of tropical formation over the next 7 days. The yellow spot indicates the area of possible formation.
