The South Fayette Lions (3-1) host the Belle Vernon Leopards (1-2) at South Fayette Stadium in the final nonleague tuneup for both squads.
The Lions edged Elizabeth Forward 27-24 last week, powered by freshman phenom Aayden Wright, who electrified the home crowd with a 90-yard touchdown run and added a receiving score before halftime.
Belle Vernon , under first-year head coach Scott Bryer, looks to bounce back from a 20-7 defeat to McKeesport in which senior quarterback Curtis Wade had a touchdown and 51 rushing yards on eight carries.
South Fayette downed the Leopards 27-17 in last year’s head-to-head.
Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, September 19 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network .
