Well, folks, it looks like we're still riding that summer wave here across Southern Illinois, with those warmer, summer-like temperatures sticking around for a bit longer. We've been seeing highs in the 80s, and it's going to feel even warmer this weekend as we push towards the 90s.

On top of that, our chances for rain are a bit scattered early in the week, with just an isolated shower or thunderstorm possible here and there, keeping things feeling humid and unsettled.

However, the good news is we are seeing a significant pattern shift forecast for the upcoming week. This transition is expected to bring not only cooler temperatures, knocking us back down into the more climatological normal range in the lower 80s, but importantly, it's ushering in a much-needed wetter pattern.
