MAYFIELD, Ky. (WSIL) -- A jet plane crashed into a home near the Mayfield Graves County Airport on Thursday afternoon.
The Graves County Sheriff's Office reported the incident occurred when the aircraft failed to stop at the end of the runway, continuing through a grassy area, a perimeter fence, and across Kentucky Highway 58 before hitting a home. Close
Plane crashes into home
The home was occupied at the time, but the sheriff's office said the resident was not injured. The pilot, who was the only person on the plane, also was reported without any injuries.
Local and state emergency management agencies, along with the FAA and NTSB, have been notified and are expected to investigate the crash.
