SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- A person is dead after a vehicle crash on Bridge Road early Friday morning, police said.

According to officials, the 4700 block of Bridge Road at the I-664 southbound entrance ramp is closed as a result of the crash. Police said the crash occurred just before 6:30 a.m.

Police said the road is expected to be closed for an extended period of time and ask drivers to use an alternate route during the closure.
