A pitcher for the Washington Wild Things baseball team has been charged with assault after punching a man in a Pittsburgh nightclub last month.

Authorities were called to Cavo on Smallman Street in the Strip District around 1 a.m. for a reported assault on Aug. 31. Advertisement

When officers arrived, they saw paramedics working on the victim, who was unconscious and appeared to have "significant facial trauma."

Authorities say they were shown security footage of the victim entering the club and having a conversation with a man who was later identified as Sebastian Rodriguez.

The video allegedly shows Rodriguez hitting the victim with a single punch, knocking him unconscious and causing him to fall to the floor.
