PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (25 News) – More students in the Peoria area now have access to additional financial aid to help them get a college education.
Peoria Promise reimburses tuition payments for local eligible students who attend Illinois Central College.
For the last 18 years, only students who live in Peoria or attend its public and private high schools have been eligible. Now, the non-profit’s program is expanding into Peoria Heights.
Executive Director MJ Schettler tells 25 News that some students live in Peoria Heights but attend school in Peoria, or vice versa. She says expanding to Peoria Heights makes the scholarship money more accessible.
