Irish rap group Kneecap has been declared ineligible to enter Canada due to accusations of promoting hate symbols targeting the Jewish community and supporting terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas. Ontario MP Vince Gasparro announced the decision on Friday, stating that it is effective immediately.

Gasparro, who serves as the parliamentary secretary for combatting crime, emphasized Canada’s commitment to opposing hate speech and violence. He stated, "Canada stands firmly against hate speech, incitements to violence and the glorification of terrorism." He added that Kneecap's actions and statements contradict Canadian values and laws, causing significant concern for the government.

The MP noted that the group has "amplified political violence" and has shown public support for groups like Hezbollah and Hamas. He clarified that these actions are not merely artistic expressions or legitimate political critiques, but rather dangerous endorsements of violence and hate.

Kneecap, which consists of three members, had planned to perform in Toronto in mid-October. Earlier this summer, there was significant backlash from Indigenous leaders and Jewish organizations, who called for the group to be barred from entering Canada.
