Mercedes AMG Formula One driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli has responded to team principal Toto Wolff 's comments on his Italian Grand Prix weekend. Wolff described Antonelli's performance as "underwhelming" after the rookie started the race from P6 but finished in ninth place.

During the second free practice session, Antonelli beached his W16 F1 car on gravel, bringing the session to an early end. On raceday, the 19-year-old driver could have finished the race in eighth place, but a five-second penalty for forcing Alex Albon off the race track led him to finish one place below in P9. Wolff publicly expressed his disappointment with Antonelli for the first time. Newsweek Sports reported his comments:
