A man is facing charges in the Sept. 11 shooting death of a woman in Winston-Salem, authorities said Friday.

Jaheim Bennett, 22, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony murder, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of stolen goods, Winston-Salem police said.

Bennett was also served an outstanding fugitive warrant from New York for three separate charges, police said.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said Bennett is being held without bond in the Forsyth County Jail.

Destiny Kamara Tucker, 27, was shot to death on Sept. 11 in the 3900 block of Cullen Street, police said. The shooting happened at 10:16 p.m. in the city’s northeastern section.
