GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - Crews are working to remove a plane that ran off the runway and crashed into the corner of a home.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, KY 58 in Graves County is blocked on Monday morning, September 22, between KY 131 and Byrd Road.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office reported on Thursday, Sept. 1,8 that the plane ran off the runway at the Mayfield Airport and hit a home on the south side of Kentucky 58 East. Autoplay

Graves County Sheriff John Hayden said the preliminary reports indicated that the pilot was unable to stop the aircraft on the runway. The plane then continued through a fence and into the home.

Investigators report that one woman was home when the plane hit the structure, but thankfully, she was not hurt.
