Nashville’s Ethical Conduct Board will hold a hearing next month regarding an ethics complaint against District 1 Metro Nashville Council Member Joy Kimbrough.
On Sept. 18, the board voted to set the hearing for Friday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m., when they’ll consider whether Kimbrough’s actions, outlined in a recent complaint, amounted to an ethics violation. The complaint filed Aug. 19 by Ryan Moses with beverage distributor Best Brands Inc. alleges that Kimbrough asked for a $500,000 payment which she would control, rather than a proposed $150,000 community benefit plan, in exchange for supporting a rezoning the business has been pursuing.
