A Pontiac man facing criminal charges for allegedly beating and choking his 9-year-old son last June will face an Oakland County Circuit Court judge for arraignment on Sept. 24.

The child was hospitalized for his injuries, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Cedric Diequell-Stevens Moore, 38, recently waived his right to a preliminary exam in 50th District Court, which led to the case against him being bound over to the higher court. He’s in the Oakland County Jail, charged with second-degree child abuse and fourth-degree child abuse, with bond set at $100,000.
