Work is underway to give Wyoming’s 50-year-old municipal pool another decade or so of life while the community raises funds to build its replacement.
A $470,000 rehabilitation project began recently after the outdoor pool in McKay Park closed for the season, with the aim of the work being completed before the new season in 2026, said Paul daSilva, Plympton-Wyoming’s director of public works.

“At the beginning of the year, we noticed that we were losing water in the pool,” he said.
The leak was found in the bottom drains, which were plugged. Temporary drains were added for this year’s pool season, “realizing we’d have to do a more extensive renovation starting in the fall,” daSilva said.
The pool liner has been removed. New drains and supply lines will be installed,
