Developers of the controversial Wood Avenue megawarehouse are facing the Easton Zoning Hearing Board for the first time to request a special exception tied to the project.

It could take a while to reach a decision.

The piece that Scannell Properties needs approved is the relocation of a watercourse, retention basin and road within a designated floodplain. The Zoning Hearing Board held a special hearing Sept. 18 in Easton City Hall to hear Scannell’s case.

The warehouse spans over one million square feet, with developers still seeking overall approval from Easton.

The meeting was set up similarly to the Easton Planning Commission’s Sept. 3 meeting , where a solicitor proctored the meeting and witnesses could be questioned by legal counsel, with the opportunity for cross examination.
