Multiple investigations are ongoing this week in Mississippi. On Monday, Sept. 15, two men were found dead, hanging from trees, just hours apart.

Demartravion "Trey" Reed , 21, of Grenada, was found early in the day on the Delta State University campus in Cleveland. The young Black man was a student, and investigators initially ruled his death a suicide. An autopsy report from the state says the same. The family has doubts and is pursuing a second autopsy and carrying out a private investigation.

Cory Zukatis , 36, of Brandon, was found later in the day near a Vicksburg casino. Police are still investigating his death, and relatively few details have been released.
