CHAMBLEE, Ga. — Paul Brown, FBI Atlanta special agent in charge, was flanked by local law enforcement as he announced dozens of arrests had been made of the state's most dangerous criminals.
"Everyone deserves to feel safe and secure in their homes and communities," Brown said. "This effort was part of the FBI surge to crush violent crime and was part of the FBI's larger operation called Operation Summer Heat."
During the six-week-long Operation No Escape, federal, state and local law enforcement combined to arrest 177 fugitives. The cases ranged from murders to illegal drugs and weapons to human trafficking.
The FBI, with help from Atlanta Police, tracked down Rico Arnold. He is suspected of a shooting on Edgewood Avenue back in July that killed one man and injured ten others.
