EUGENE, Ore. - Lane County is offering couples a unique way to tie the knot this Halloween, according to the Lane County Clerk's Office.
County officials said that couples can celebrate their marriage with a "vampirates" theme on Friday, Oct. 31. County Clerk Tommy Gong will officiate these themed "scaremonies," dressed in costume alongside his staff.
"Halloween is a favorite holiday for many people and what fun to combine it with the joy of marrying the person you love," Gong said.
Couples are encouraged to embrace the theme by dressing as vampire pirates. With only 15 slots available, ceremonies will run in 20-minute intervals from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the County Clerk’s Office on East 8th Avenue.
