ESCANABA — Kristen Madeline Farrell, 49, of Escanaba (Soo Hill), passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, September 17, 2025 at Emmon’s Adult Foster Care Home, surrounded by her loving family.

Kristen was born September 16, 1976, in Escanaba, the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Kitty Larson) Olsen. She was raised in Escanaba and was a 1995 graduate of Escanaba High School. Following high school, Kristen enrolled in the pre-engineering program at Bay de Noc Community College, graduating in 1997. She went on to attend and graduate with her Civil Engineering Degree from Michigan Tech University in 2000. Shortly after graduation, on June 10, 2000, the former Kristen Olsen was united in marriage to William Farrell, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba, and together the couple made their
