LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man has died two weeks after a crash on the Gene Snyder, according to Louisville police.

LMPD said the crash happened around 5:10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, on I-265 North near the Blue Lick Overpass. An initial investigation showed a car had become disabled in the roadway. The driver got out, crossed to the shoulder, and was hit by a car that was trying to get out of the way of a commercial vehicle and the disabled car. That car stopped and waited at the scene.

The driver that got hit was taken to UofL Hospital in critical condition. He died on Sept. 19. His name has not been released.

The driver of the other car had minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

The investigation was handled by LMPD’s Traffic Unit.
