CHARDON, Ohio (WJW) -- A former coach at Hawken Upper School in Chesterland has pleaded guilty to sexual battery charges involving a 17-year-old student.

Devin A. Hernandez, 30, of Mayfield Heights, was indicted in April on six third-degree felony counts of sexual battery, for alleged encounters between March and June 2023, Geauga County court records show.

He pleaded guilty on Thursday, Sept. 18, to two of those counts, records show.

Hernandez was an assistant strength and conditioning coach who trained athletes at the school, according to court filings.
