CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - A southern Illinois man is facing gun and drug charges after a traffic stop in Carbondale.

Galen E. Mack, 57, of Colp, was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of a weapon by a street gang member and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Carbondale police, they pulled a vehicle over around 5:41 a.m. on September 17 in the 500 block of East College Street.

Police found the driver, later identified as Mack, had a gun and drug paraphernalia.

Mack was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
