CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A Cape Girardeau County man is accused of damaging Ameren property.
Joseph Howard Wissman was charged with felony damage to critical infrastructure facility, felony first-degree property damage and misdemeanor stealing.
According to online court documents, Ameren built two structure towers on Wissman’s property within an easement about a year ago. The towers are each about 160 feet tall, with their base affixed to a concrete pier.
The documents state that someone reported seeing Wissman with several large, metal nuts he had allegedly removed from the tower base.
Wissman also allegedly used his drill press to bore out at least two of the large metal nuts.
