KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a stabbing in Knoxville that left one person hospitalized Friday afternoon.

KPD said the stabbing happened in the 300 block of Ben Hur Avenue. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is currently in critical condition.

According to KPD, a person of interest was detained at the scene by responding officers.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
