The Quentin “Q” Williams Field was unveiled between Beman Middle School and the Middletown Recreation Center by Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz on Friday.

The city gathered in honor of State Representative Quentin Williams, who died unexpectedly during his third year serving the city.

The field includes a plaque with details about Williams’ life and service, and a solar-powered scoreboard with his name in bold letters.

“I believe this field brings a smile to Q’s face,” Mayor Gene Nocera said. “Q was more than just a public servant. He was a friend, a husband, a son, a champion for justice and equity in the community.”
