Legendary Smiths frontman and solo English singer-songwriter Morrissey has canceled his appearance in Boston due to a “credible threat” on his life.
“Due to recent events and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band, the upcoming shows this weekend at Foxwoods and MGM Music Hall have been cancelled. All tickets will be refunded automatically at your original point of purchase,” Morrissey posted on his Instagram page.
Morrissey was scheduled to play Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, tonight at and MGM Music Hall at Fenway tomorrow night. The two New England events were the fifth and sixth dates of his international “Nude” Tour that kicked off Sept. 10 in Montreal, Quebec.
