SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - For the first time in 60 years, South Bend will have a city hall.

It’s scheduled to open to the public on Monday, Oct. 13.

The renovated building downtown is where the South Bend School Corporation’s headquarters used to be located.

South Bend Mayor James Mueller says the $10 million renovated space is a good deal as the County-City Building needs significant renovations to bring it up to standards.

City Hall is set to bring in around 200 city employees from across three government buildings. The County-City Building, the building department offices on Lafayette, and the water works team on Colfax will now all be housed under one roof.
