MALDEN, Mass. —

Two days after federal agents smashed the window of a pickup truck and detained a Massachusetts man, his wife pleaded for compassion.

Edgar Hernan Elias Escobar was driving in his white pickup truck in Malden when he was pulled over early Wednesday morning, just before sunrise. His wife, Leslie Gonzalez, said she was on the phone during the dramatic arrest .

Video of Escobar's detainment shows a struggle as ICE agents and he was later seen on a stretcher, being taken by ambulance to the hospital with blood streaming down his arm. He was taken to a detention center in Plymouth, facing deportation.
